  • What is the Deaf Darts Organisation (DDO)?
The Deaf Darts Organisation (DDO) is a worldwide community dedicated to promoting the sport of darts for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. Our mission is to provide a platform for players to compete, socialise, and excel in the sport, while raising awareness and fostering inclusivity in the wider darts community.
  • Who can participate in Deaf Darts events?
Deaf Darts events are open to all players who are deaf or hard of hearing, regardless of their level of skill. In some cases, players with hearing loss may also be able to participate. You do not need to be a professional darts player to get involved, just passionate about the sport and inclusive competition.
  • Are there national or international competitions?
Yes! We organise national and international competitions, including regional championships and the World Deaf Darts Championships. These events are hosted in various locations, with the goal of bringing together the best players from around the world.
  • How are competitions conducted?
Our competitions follow standard darts rules, with minor adjustments where necessary to accommodate the needs of the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. We emphasise fair play and sportsmanship. The matches may be conducted with visual signals (such as hand signals) for scores and other key information to ensure clear communication between players and officials.
  • What are the benefits of joining the Deaf Darts Organisation?
Access to local, regional, and international competitions. Networking with other deaf darts enthusiasts. Opportunities to develop and showcase your skills. A sense of community and camaraderie within the sport.
  • Is there an age limit for participation?
No, our events are open to players of all ages. We organise age-specific competitions for juniors, seniors, and adults to ensure that players of different age groups can compete fairly.
  • Can players who are not deaf participate in Deaf Darts events?
While our primary focus is on providing opportunities for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals, in some cases, hearing players with experience in sign language or a close connection to the deaf community may be allowed to participate. However, the majority of our events prioritise deaf players.
  • How can I volunteer for Deaf Darts events?
Volunteers are always welcome! We need help with event management, refereeing, coaching, and assisting with the smooth running of tournaments. If you're interested in volunteering, please reach out via our website or contact us directly to learn more about available opportunities.
  • Can I follow Deaf Darts on social media?
Yes! We are active on social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. You can stay updated on upcoming events, results, and other news by following us.
